TenneT is Europe’s first cross-border grid operator for electricity. With over 25,000 kilometers of (extra) high-voltage lines and 41 million end-users in the Netherlands and Germany, we rank among the top five grid operators in Europe. Offshore
TenneT investeert fors in Duitsland om windparken op zee aan te sluiten op het Duitse hoogspanningsnet. Daarmee dragen we bij aan het verwezenlijken van de in Duitsland door de politiek gewenste overgang naar een duurzamere energievoorziening (‘Energiewende’). TenneT is bezig met de uitvoering van negen projecten om windparken in het Duitse deel van de Noordzee op het hoogspanningsnet aan te sluiten. Deze projecten samen zijn goed voor 5.000 MW hernieuwbare energie, voldoende om 5 miljoen huishoudens van stroom te voorzien. De aanvragen voor het aansluiten van duurzame bronnen overstijgen de capaciteit van het Duitse hoogspanningsnet. Ook moet het tempo van nieuwbouwprojecten op land gelijke tred houden met ontwikkelingen op zee (windparken).

Wind op Zee
Nederland staat aan de vooravond van een energietransitie. Als hoogspanningsnetbeheerder en elektriciteitstransporteur kan en wil TenneT een belangrijke rol spelen en bijdrage leveren om deze energietransitie effectief en kostenefficiënt te helpen realiseren.

Interconnectoren
TenneT wil een belangrijke partij zijn in de Noordwest-Europese energiemarkt. Door regio’s en landen met elkaar te verbinden, ontstaat een keten van hoogspanningsnetten. Dit maakt internationaal transport van elektriciteit makkelijker, efficiënter en goedkoper. Ook kunnen de internationale vraag en aanbod dan beter met elkaar in evenwicht worden gebracht. Voor gebruikers resulteert dit in lagere kosten en een hogere leveringszekerheid.
