At Jumbo, we’ve been pushing boundaries in heavy lift shipping and offshore installation for over 50 years. Nowadays, our projects take us across the globe: from shipping heavy cargo in remote places, to installing mooring lines in deep waters off Brazil or placing wind turbine foundations in Taiwan and the North Sea.
We’re always looking for curious and driven students who want to take on real responsibility early in their careers. As an engineer at Jumbo, you’ll be involved in preparing projects from multiple angles, ranging from marine analyses and structural calculations to logistical planning and coordination.
And when the ship sets sail, you won’t be left behind. We actively encourage our engineers to step onboard and be part of the offshore execution. It’s your chance to see the results of your work firsthand and bring your designs to life out at sea.
Jumbo is a family owned company with a customer oriented approach that focuses on co-operation and partnership with clients in search of the best solution. Our attention to quality and safety has enabled us to develop a strong reputation for reliability.
Jumbo has a number of opportunities for graduates and working students every year. Our engineering department has 4 disciplines: Marine / Structural, Project Engineering Shipping, Project Engineering Offshore and Inquiry. In addition, we have a CAD design team. As a young engineer, you will quickly be involved in our projects within Shipping or Offshore. You will become familiar with our working method and quickly get to know the organization and people. Engineers within Jumbo are broadly trained and your career within engineering grows into the role of Project Engineer. With the experience comes several, also broader opportunities for example within Tenders or Projects or to become a Lead Engineer.
The application procedure starts with sending in your CV and motivation to express your interest in Jumbo Maritime. In the event we see opportunities for you, you will soon sit down with one of our engineers and HR. We will see whether you fit within the Jumbo culture and you will see if we can offer you an interesting (graduation) project. Sometimes we look more broadly at possibilities within another department, and in those cases a second interview follows.
When the first interview is positive, further coordination will take place with your contact within Engineering about the content of your project or activities. HR formalizes your internship or work with a contract.
