We do not select on the basis of study background but on the basis of Unilever's Standards of Leadership. These are the core competencies we measure when considering your application, at every stage of our selection process. During your application for the Unilever Future Leaders Program (UFLP), we will assess you against these Standards of Leadership, as we believe that these standards of conduct are a requirement for any graduate who wants to become a future leader of Unilever. Unilever is the place where you can bring your purpose to life with the work that you do – creating a better business and a better world. We care - it’s what we’re known for. And it’s why we’re a great place to build a career with purpose.
Since we are one of the world's largest consumer products companies, the scale and impact of our activities offer many fascinating career opportunities. Whatever area you work in: Supply Chain, Finance, R&D, Commercial, HR, or Digital & Analytics, you will immediately have a lot of responsibility from day one.
Your career starts in the Netherlands, but you work in an international environment with colleagues and customers from all over the world. In about three years, you rotate between three different roles.
As a Management Trainee you must have strong strategic and analytical skills. Moreover, you must be able to act decisively in a challenging and dynamic environment. You will participate in various training courses and workshops, which will contribute to the development of the skills and knowledge necessary for a career within Unilever.
As your career progresses, you will develop general business skills such as change, project and information management. This will enable you to work as part of a multi-functional team. In addition, it helps you build your flexibility and creativity to approach business issues from different angles, seize opportunities and implement optimal solutions.
At the end of your traineeship, you should be able to fulfill the role of a manager with responsibility for a team. As you develop in your career, your responsibilities will also increase, meaning you will manage larger projects, budgets and teams.
Since we are looking for future leaders, our selection process is focused on discovering your potential. We therefore select mainly on personality, more than on your knowledge and skills. The application procedure consists of: online application, game-based assessments, digital interview and the final in-house assessment day: the Discovery Center.
